About the Role

Firmwerx is hiring a Client & Growth Lead, a senior leadership role focused on the executive relationship and the firm's growth. This is the person who decides which clients we pursue, how we position what we do, and where Firmwerx goes next. It is distinct from the Client Product Manager, who owns hands-on product delivery on the day to day. This role sits a level up, at the strategy and relationship layer.

You are the person client leadership trusts as they transition to AI. You sit with executives, understand their business deeply, and frame opportunities they haven't yet imagined. You set engagement direction and partner with the AI Solutions Lead and the Client Product Manager to make sure the work delivers, without owning the daily build yourself. You read code and reason about what's being built well enough to keep the work honest and the client confident.

You drive how Firmwerx grows. You bring a clear point of view on which clients to pursue, how to position what we do, and where the next opportunities are, and you contribute meaningfully to growth strategy alongside leadership. This is not a pure sales role, and it is not a pure account management role.

The critical competency is the combination of analytical depth, creative thinking about AI-driven solutions, executive presence, and the judgment to set direction on engagements that deliver measurable outcomes while growing the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Own the executive relationship and set engagement direction, partnering with the Client Product Manager who runs the day to day
  • Decide which clients we pursue and how we position what we do, with a clear point of view
  • Run strategic conversations with client leadership about transitioning to AI and the outcomes that matter
  • Frame AI-driven opportunities executives haven't yet considered and bring them forward
  • Partner with the AI Solutions Lead and Client Product Manager on scope, priorities, and quality, without owning the daily build
  • Own the full client lifecycle from first conversation through expansion
  • Drive growth strategy: which markets to enter, how we differentiate, and where the next opportunities are
  • Build artifacts that make outcomes legible: case studies, ROI analyses, engagement narratives

Requirements

  • Proven consulting experience or equivalent client leadership track record (management consulting, professional services, strategy, or senior client-facing engagement leadership)
  • Innovative, highly analytical, and creative thinker. You go deep, you reason from first principles, and you bring ideas clients didn't expect
  • Engages with code and modern software development. Comfortable reading code, reasoning about systems, and pushing technical work to completion without needing to write code daily
  • Strong fluency with leading AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor and similar) and a credible point of view on how they create client value
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication. Clear, engaging, confident, and never awkward in front of senior client stakeholders
  • Self-directed and proactive. You identify opportunities and act on them without waiting for direction
  • Comfortable working on a small team with high autonomy and minimal hierarchy

Nice to Have

  • Background in management consulting or professional services (legal, accounting, financial advisory, insurance, consulting)
  • Experience leading mixed teams of business and technical people through a delivery
  • Hands-on experience using leading AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic / Claude Code, Cursor) in your own work
  • MBA or equivalent business strategy experience
  • Network within professional services industries
