About the Role

Firmwerx is hiring an AI Solutions Lead, a leadership role for a senior builder who can sit with a client, understand their business deeply, identify the highest-leverage AI opportunities, and then go build the solution.

This is the hybrid product / engineering / delivery role. You're a senior engineer who works hands-on every day with the leading AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, and other frontier tooling) because that's how the best builders deliver client outcomes today. You use these tools as best practice to ship the best possible customer experience and meet client objectives, not as a novelty.

You take full ownership. From the first client conversation to the shipped product, you own it. You don't wait for specifications. You assess the situation, define the plan, and execute. You're a player-coach who thinks in systems, communicates with clarity, and ships production software.

The critical competency is the rare combination of deep technical ability, strong client communication, consulting instincts, and the judgment to know what to build, how to build it, and when it's truly ready for a client to depend on.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements end-to-end: understand the problem, design the solution, build it, deliver it
  • Build production software hands-on using OpenAI, Anthropic, Cursor, and other leading AI platforms, applied as best practice for the client's objectives
  • Own project timelines, client communication, and deliverables independently without needing a separate project manager
  • Architect full-stack AI applications: React, Node/Express, PostgreSQL, LLM integrations, vector databases, agent workflows
  • Sit with clients to understand their business deeply, then translate that understanding into technical solutions
  • Identify AI opportunities clients haven't considered and bring them forward with a clear point of view
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new AI tools, models, and frameworks to keep client outcomes ahead of the market
  • Partner directly with Firmwerx leadership on strategy, client priorities, and how we deliver
  • Set the quality bar for technical output. Your work is production-grade, not prototype-grade

Requirements

  • Senior software engineering experience with a track record of leading projects and shipping products clients depend on
  • Builds hands-on with leading AI platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic / Claude Code, Cursor, and similar) as part of your daily workflow, not as experiments
  • Full-stack proficiency: TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Vercel, or similar)
  • Consulting-style client communication. You can sit with executives, explain technical concepts in plain language, and make them feel confident about the path forward
  • Self-directed and autonomous. You thrive with minimal oversight and take initiative without being asked
  • Critical thinker who goes deep, not shallow, and solves hard problems rather than easy ones
  • Experience with LLM integrations, AI agent frameworks, RAG systems, or similar AI/ML production implementations
  • Comfortable owning engagements independently: timelines, scope, client expectations, and deliverables

Nice to Have

  • Experience in professional services (legal, accounting, financial advisory, consulting). Understanding these industries accelerates everything
  • Background in consulting or agency work where you owned client relationships while building
  • Experience with AI agent orchestration frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, custom agent systems)
  • Product management or product strategy experience, whether formal or informal
  • Open source contributions or published technical writing
